Jagex trollin?

Well I definitly will not be renuing my membership for april after seeing yesterday's behind the scenes (unless they drop a super duper unannounced update that counteracts how stupid they've gotten this month).

"Please note that the death mechanic used in the Wilderness and other dangerous PvP activities will not be changing from how it currently is, other than that your most valuable items will be decided by their Grand Exchange guide price, not their alch value."

So basically. Chaotic will drop if you are pking with something more expensive on the ge than it's alch value? Well have fun with all the maul/cls/clr welfarers. Not only this, but whip/claw/ags luring will be GONE.

But that brings me to the most important part of this update, MERCH CLANS CAN CONTROL WHAT YOU PROTECT ON DEATH. Blizzard/Bioware - if you are listening - here is your chance to drop runescape as a competitor. Invest $100,000 into runescape gold, thats at least 125 billion gold - then tell smoking mils, and all the other merchanting clans on runescape "Rune platelegs - 25m". With at least 200b combined gold buying out rune platelegs, it will take over 5 million sets of rune platelegs to sell, which simply won't happen for 3 reasons.

1.) There is a limited store supply thanks to the shop update by Jagex.
2.) Players also need them for PK'ng - especially f2p players and rune pures, so that's more than just merchanting clans buying them out.
3.)The other two ways are from monster drops (which isn't a threat at all because they aren't dropped consistently), and smithing - which rune bars are already needed for other rune armour and rune minotaur pouches.

This means that rune platelegs are practically guaranteed to hit at least 10m. At this point, you take the accounts with rune platelegs, die somewhere remotely, and remove them from the game so it will take years for the supply to be replenished. Even if they are dumped they will still cost so much that they will protect over some of the more expensive items in the game such as whips... and will no longer be an option to pk with, which will leave alot of players with little options for an alternative.

The best part of this all will be watching Jagex try to panic-fix this when they realize whats happening - their only options would be to make it so easily obtainable - that it would be a worthless item if one were to dump millions of sets on the grand exchange so they wouldn't sell. Or to put a trade limit back in place reset the GE and thousands of players would quit again.

Congratulations, you have crashed the runescape economy. Great update jagex, can't wait to see the day every day items are merched to protect over OP gear.

Anyway, as said before I'll be taking april off, I'll still try to keep posting on my blog in the meantime. I'm actually really wanting to play Star Wars: The Old Republic when it comes out. I'd like to make a Zabrak Sith Inquisitor - Assassin Specialization (think darth maul). The class is pretty much a magic class - the two specializations are Sorcerer and Assassin. Sorcerer focuses more on using the force for magic/crowd control, Assassin uses to force to buff melee in speed and stealth (kind of like a hybrid). Hope it comes out soon.

Burnout

Forty went f2p yesterday, and I've had a nice day off of runescape - so nice, that I'm actually considering taking a short break from the game. I know this comes so close to yak that it's borderline stupid to punk out now... but I'm beginning to hate playing again, and I need some rejuvenating before playing further.

The semester is nearing it's end and I also need to be ready for my exams. So I need a rs vacation until I feel more motivated to play. 

Technical Difficulties

 Just hit a huge setback for my spring break... my laptop's power supply pretty much baked while I was sleeping. I may be able to temporarily repair it, but I'm kind of shit out of luck until I can get a new one. Depending on what happens I may be inactive for a bit. Wish me well :\

Edit: I have a power supply in the mail currently. Should deliver within the week, In the morning I'll try to borrow someone's soldering iron so I can work on my broken one. Big shoutout to Eric. <3

Edit2: I've managed to repair my power supply to last long enough for my new one to arrive, however jagex gypped me on my membership, as I paid for a 60 day (2 month) membership on their website on January 30th, and as it's March 30th they have cancelled it. The issue here is that February is 28 days, which means I only received 58 days, even though it's said all month that my membership ends on April 1st. I'll figure it out.

Brackish blade

Isn't it cute? Picked it up when I woke up for about 2.3m. Overpriced maybe but I really like having a stab version of a dragon scimitar. First thing I did was take it to frost drags, wasn't bad at all, although with 35 defence I must tag the dragon. So I doubt I will be meleeing them. I then decided to give pking a shot, a rune pure with claws teleported from me twice so I decided to go to world 65 and test my luck. I fought another rune pure, hit a 443 with rigour to start the fight, I had 16 prayer points left and was combo'ing well with 300+ hits and didn't want to lose a ko by prayer potting, I got hero dds spec'd and smited for it lol. My bad luck didn't stop there, I bought another one and decided to return in slayer helm, only this time I got claw spec'd by a turmoil pure from 477 hp (through protect melee and 180 slash def wut). I protected my second blade but lost a slayer helm. Just one of those days I guess.

After that I decided to go to w117 and do some effigies. I got some decent exp from that, although I still have a few left to do. I'd like to give a special thanks to Alex, Ai, Tom, & Nabil for assisting me as well, as there were a few of them. As it stands my plans with summoning are to use my blues & greens on lava titans and unicorns to 95, along with effigies and penguin points - and then use all my crimson charms on iron titans to 96.

I decided to further experiment at wallasalkis today and go with 45 prayer bonus and an invo of prayer pots, the trip took a couple hours and I got about 3/4 of the charms I normally would for that amount of time - however it was almost no work apart from loading cannon and picking up charms. All in all I'll stick with 35+ blues an hour ranging them with rigour... even though it means I have to get a door person every hour and pay more attention. I also hit 21m range exp.

Anyway, I'm a little brain-dead because I'm tired so I think I'll leave today's post at that. Last thing I'd like to add is congrats on 99 Crafting to Tom! 

Familiarization Meltdown

I did it! Saturday night I finished up my frost dragon bones for a total of about 2.4k frost dragon bones. I paid my friend Eric (reginlief_28) back about 30m, as he paid for my shards to 92 summoning since wolpertinger was a last minute decision. I have started on my charm collecting for yak. I'm hoping this time next week I'll be a mage bank champion with a yak full of brews haha.


I've been at wallasalkis in waterbirth dungeon. I'm cannoning them with rigour and geyser titan. I started off using rune cbow and broad bolts, however I experimented with msb and rune arrows. I have to hand it to msb for once; it's actually the better choice as it's better DPS and you get more hits in instead of standing around waiting to attack (one of the things I hate about pking with magic).

I also hit 20 MILLION range exp yesterday. Grave timer in screenshot is because I always try to cram my invo full of ppots, because I don't normally need food in waterbirth dungeon as I can prayer switch quite well. I ended up getting attacked by a huge pile of melee dagganoths in the 4th room while praying range. I kept misclicking the ladder due to lag and got KO'd from 400 hp. Thanks to bursting lobs I didn't lose much (HUGE shoutout to strongdavid7 who blessed and fought them off me).

Moving on to today, I went to do familiarization for triple charms (100 blues & 60 crims usually) and my door person kept missing the second door. I ended up hopping to world 66 in hopes of finding someone for barricades and it was empty. By the time I got in I had 5 minutes left, ended up wasting an hour of my life for about 30 charms. So I was foaming at the mouth in scape rage over losing about 100k summoning exp, but I got an effigy that trip, so I got over it. Although it is annoying that I'll have to wait that much longer for 96 summoning.

To end today's post, I currently have 970k exp out of 3100k summoning exp accounted for. However 1/3 of that is in effigies so if anyone reading this has high construction/crafting feel free to /query Forty-Lashes in swiftirc with your rsn because I should have about 20 effigies next week that I'll need assists for. I also want to give a shoutout to Ai/Msb for letting me borrow their ranger boots, and to charmed maul for helping me get that much closer to yak by spreading some of the wealth my way. That's about it - I'll post as news happens.

Chasing paper

Well, I intended to update this hours ago, however I lost track of time. Anyway, school is out for about 9 days so my blog posts will be much more consistent throughout the week. Today I got back into grind-mode. 3 or 4 effigies, 1,000+ frost dragon bones, and finally, yes finally, a ring of wealth drop. I've been using this peice of crap for so long - and today at frosts I finally got a 3,886 yew log drop. So I'm pretty happy I made an extra 1.8m today, on top of the 21m+ from grinding frosts like a champion. I did about 13 tortoises today, and honestly I'm not feeling all that tired - so I may go back for my last 7 torts later.


On top of this, I'm also one step closer to being maxed. Just before getting 1k bones I leveled up to 95 hitpoints. HP has never been a skill I've went out of my way to train, and I'm going to keep it as such until its 99.

So yea, I've been productive today. I need to make enough to cannon wallasalkis for charms to 96 summoning. The reason I'm doing wallasalkis is because I need a ton of blue charms as I have about 4k obsidian charms from doing 95-98 range on tzhaars when I was getting uncut onyx for onyx ring (still need to imbue, just have been busy). So I want to kill the obsidian charms on lava titans as its free experience and just a bit less exp than geyser titans - which lose ALOT per pouch. I also can't be annoyed with fighting lvl 127s in sol and mystic over rock lobs. So pretty much all of next week I'll be at wallasalkis, I should get about 6m range exp, at least 2k blues, and hopefully a few more effigies. I'm hoping I get a really generous effigy rate and can do 95-96 on effigies and penguin points.

Recap of today, I grinded frosts for 24m. Took a break and hunted penguins. And somewhere in between I found out that castle wars halos DO NOT work with rigour/augury from a friend of mine in TLP. So it's been pushed way back in my to do list, at least until jagex fixes this.

The last thing I want to cover in today's post, is that I may slowly work on a updated version of my agile pure guide that's on RSC here on my blog page. I can't update the original guide on zybez because I'm banned, nor would I want to go back to that community due to personal reasons, however I would like to change alot of things on the guide. Mainly I'd like to emphasize the importance of dungeoneering, and really 85 dung should be as important to a new agile pure as 85 agility. And I'd also like to update the training spots and money making methods as some are out of date. If it weren't for being 16 prayer all the way to 99 range, I wish I had cannoned wallasalkis 70-99 so I wouldn't be hitting about 25m range exp next week... I also wish I would have bursted 70-94 magic instead of stunned/alched. So I'd like to stress the importance of these two training methods so people in the future can save some time.

Anyway, that's about it for today. Late/LONG post I know - but 1k frost bones took a while. Will post again once I finish my last couple of frost dragons and get started on wallasalkis. Have a fun spring break everyone!

Grinding

Yikes, it's been a couple days since my last post. As I stated before I have college the first two days of the week so I dont get much time to scape apart from a couple hours on Tuesday night (usually I penguin hunt and call it night). Last night I did a couple mill at frost dragons. As with today. Nothing exciting really, I made about 13m or so. Today I decided to switch from broad bolts to runite bolts because it seems like broads take forever, and the profit I make is still substantial enough to counter the cost of rune bolts. However, it seems they were being merched today so I bought about 2k rune bolts for 950 each or so.

Today I also decided to take the faithful shield from a year or so ago and trade it in for something I can actually wear, I got the 2nd set of armour and am thinking about training 85-90 strength in castle wars. The armour gives a 10% damage bonus, and if I'm correct it stacks with the castle wars brace damage of 20% or something (not sure exact amount). I doubt this would be fantastic exp because it's not as constant as training at banshees or something - however it should get me a halo. I have a newfound goal behind getting a halo, last week I said I wanted one because they look nice, however the rswiki says its equivalent of a +15 prayer bonus when using the prayers for it. So I think this may come in handy at frost dragons when using rigour, and I could get rid of my armadyl mitres I'm using currently. The problem with this however, is that I don't know if it works with rigour - and I don't know anyone else with rigour/augury that plays castle wars much. I should add that I won't be doing castle wars until I'm finished with 96 summoning (current goal), and 97 dungeoneering (chaotic crossbow+staff & arcane stream).


Anyway, rather boring 'scaping day, I haven't gotten any ring of wealth drops or visages to blog about unfortuantely... and with my PvM luck I doubt I ever will. I have college half of tomorrow, if anything interesting happens I will do a blog post - if not, friday will be when I post my next update. The good news is, tomorrow is the last day of college before spring break, so I'm looking forward to grinding myself a yak. Then I'll need to renue my mems, and get ready to get two chaotics :s.


As far as irl goes... Ultra music festival is this weekend and I'm really upset I can't go because alot of my favorite artists will be there. But it's $175 and more for a hotel in Miami + the substances you need to abuse for a 3 day rave... so looks like I'll be nerding it up this weekend. I am considering going to a party I was invited to Friday, but honestly I don't think I can be bothered. 

Distracted.

So today's plan was to grind frost dragons. That was until I got verbally assaulted by a lvl 103 main at frost dragons in full armadyl and antifire sheild for having low defence and total. Basically frosties and I weren't getting along today - my turtle kept dying as well losing about 800k total. Ended up making about 7m at frost drags total for the day. An effigy. Two clues. Both TROLL LOOT.

I didn't do frosties for the other half of the day. I took a break with my friend Sarrah to go do some barrows. I did about 8 chests, mainly just chaos and mind runes - until I got a guthan's platebody (600k don't get too excited). Augury was amazing at barrows, I pretty much downed the meleers in 3 hits every time.
After that, Sarrah wanted to go to Dagganoth King's, so the distractions from frosties continued when I went to DK's for the first time on Forty Lashes. Did about 10 kills total, 6 of which were mine. Then the guy maging decided to let rex go and sarrah died, rex and supreme were on me so I decided to tele. But all in all, DK's on 35 defence was alot easier than I expected. (Corp better watch out for PvM forty).

Then after so much monster hunting I decided I was in the mood to pk. Went to wests, killed about 6 people in total. Pretty much kept fighting rune rangers and lvl 90 rune pures that want to be Taco Limey.
 I had a 1 def pure try to TB and understep me for a whole fight... I pretty much just let his bad hybriding skills get the best of him and kept melee/range switching him when he walked out - half the time his blitzes splashed so he was getting shat on. The fight after that I fought a turmoil pure and was comboing quite well with rigour, I smited her out twice (TWICE), and I had some pretty consistant hits going and about 350 hp, decided to risk it and got korasi'd for full slayer helm.

One issue I did have while pk'ing today is that I'm starting to get piles following me when I fight, and it's really hard for me to focus with a big group of people behind me. Guess I'll have to get used to it.

Ending notes, did some FoG with Pedro (PASK-35-STAR), lured my hunter around a rock for 10 minutes, we both charged up our addy zerker shields. I'm really wanting to jump into melee training... But for the moment I think yak is more important, even if it's dreadful getting all these charms and spending so much money. I also want to finish my side goal of 250 quest points soon. Anyways - College tomorrow, Mondays are my long days so its unlikely there will be a blog post tomorrow - and as for tuesday I have college for half of the day so I'll play it by ear and see what I can get done during the week.

Love Story

I'd have liked to have posted this before I went to sleep last night but I was wayyyy too tired. Pretty much did 54-68 smithing yesterday, and 70 construction before that. Bottom line is I'm glad it's over with. I did about 8k oak planks, and 8k gold ore, however I sold the gold ore about 1/4 through and bought mith bars because it was moving too slow. 


After I had all the requirements, I finished love story - got yanille, relleka, & rimmington tabs so I won't have to hop off ancients or move my house around anymore. Wasn't that bad of a quest but at this point I've had enough of them and would like to get back to training. The boss fight in the quest was annoying because I underestimated it's length and ran out of prayer, and had to bank to go re-do it.


Pretty much after that I just put some effort into having a useful POH. Ever since I created forty lashes my house was a glory and a canifis portal. Decided to put in all the portals, a gilded altar, an obelisk, and a combat ring. So at least I have a useful house now. If I haven't mentioned it before, I'm barely ever off of ancients so I always tele around with tabs and jewelery - this has greatly improved that.

I'll try to keep todays post a short one as I've been posting novels lately. I ended up cleaning my bank of quest junk, and today more than likely I'll be frosting, unless it's too crowded. Thats probably will be what I'm doing all of next week as well. Hopefully I'll get some loot worth posting about :]

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Well I was aiming to do this post about 6 hours ago, but I had to go to college today and that ate up alot of my time. Regardless I'm home now, had an alright saint pattys day, free bbq at my school today - met some new people. But enough about irl :]

Do No Evil finished, probably the most challenging quest I've done on forty thus far - the boss fights took me a couple tries. But anyway, I have ava's alerter now. I'm probably going to see if I can get the elite clue later, although I have my doubts I 'll be able to complete it. Who knows? Maybe I won't get boned by jagex for ONCE. Right about now I could use a nice clue reward to make back that hundred mil I spent on summoning -.-'

Next for the day would be fairy tale part 3, rather
 annoying quest to me, but at least it's out of the way and I can teleport to mudskipper point via fairy rings for quick frost dragon trips :).

Basically I quested/college'd today, but I took a break to pk for a bit, started off solo-hybriding @ lvl 17 forinthry dungeon. Hit a couple nice hits with wolper (389 or so without arcane stream or ch staff)... but all in all everyone tabbed because I didn't have a tb'r. Decided to go to wests for a bit and hybrid some pures, it was empty, killed a couple botters though. I ended up spotting some 90s in edge on my way to bank and ended up fighting a few of them. Most notable kill would be a 3 hit for 2.5k rune arrows. I was running to bank and this guy attacked me and I ran back and dbow spec'd him and switched to rune cbow for a 430 onyx bolt hit... sadly it was too fast for me to get on vid... but rigour and I are getting along nicely. To finish up today's post, I'll probably do love story and put a gilded altar in my house - don't ask me why, because I don't have a reason. The rest of this weekend I'll be camping the daylights out of frost dragons... a vecna/visage/anything would be nice. I decided 96 summoning is my next big thing on the list so thats where the money will be applied. Anyways, that's about it - Happy St. Patrick's Day!

92 Summoning

First blog post - I'll get started with todays accomplishment of 92 summoning to the side.

Used alot of the charms I barraged from 99 magic, big weight off my chest - however today jagex decided to screw me over... they released the "Vecna Skull" (rswiki link). Pretty much I spent about 100m and hundreds of hours getting 92 summoning - then jagex comes along and releases this for 10m, a rare drop from many different monsters that boosts magic +6 and is tradeable. GF'd. I wouldn't have so much of a problem with it if it were like a 1:3000 drop or something and was untradeable... but it looks like 92 summoning was rendered almost useless with this update - so I am fk'd until yak pretty much... the good news is with yak it will be like having a wolpertinger and yak summoned at once.


So tl;dr pretty much I am owned until yak because jagex catered to ge prods. Screwed me over like they did with faithful shield about a year ago. I spent a week solid when it came out to get the shield because it was a rune kite without a def requirement, with a rough requirement of 200 castle wars tickets that balanced out its advantage... then two days after I got it they nerfed it to 40 def :(. Currently working on 68 construction and smithing for quest requirements, hope to finish con tonight. The ones on my list to do are Do No Evil (for Ava's alerter), Fairy Tale Part 3 (fairy rings without staff for frost dragons), Love Story (the tabs seem useful and I pretty much have close to the reqs from doing Do No Evil), and Rocking Out (hoping the defence requirement in the upcoming dungeoneering quest will be optional, if not puts my current 226 qp a little higher and gives some decent exp).


After that it looks like I'll be doing some money making for a bit (100m on summoning murdered my bank). And then hopefully chaotic. Today while I was penguin hunting I saw someone with sara halo and decided one day I might get another 100 castle wars tickets because it would look nice with my chilling outfit.
